Is window tinting legal in Dubai/UAE?
Yes, window tinting is legal in the UAE. ZGuard only installs films that comply with RTA regulations. We will not install any film that would fail a roadworthiness inspection — your legal standing and safety matter to us.
What is the legal window tint percentage in the UAE?
The UAE allows up to 50% VLT (visible light transmission) for front side windows and windscreen. Rear side windows and rear windscreen can be darker. ZGuard advises on the correct VLT per window position for every vehicle — we will never fit a combination that gets you flagged at an RTA inspection.
What is nano ceramic window tint?
Nano ceramic tint uses ceramic particles embedded in the film to block infrared heat and UV rays without the use of metal or dye. This gives better heat rejection, longer colour stability, and zero interference with GPS, cameras, sensors or mobile signals — unlike metalised or dyed films.
How long does window tinting last?
Onyx nano ceramic films are warrantied for 2 years against fading, bubbling, peeling, and delamination. With proper care (avoiding abrasive cleaners on windows, allowing 3–5 days after installation before rolling windows down), the films perform well for significantly longer.
Does window tinting affect parking sensors or cameras?
No. Onyx nano ceramic tint contains no metal, so it does not interfere with parking sensors, reversing cameras, toll tags (Salik), GPS, or mobile signal. This is a common problem with metalised films — ceramic eliminates it entirely.
How long does tinting take?
A full vehicle window tint typically takes 3–5 hours at our studio. We recommend keeping windows fully closed for 3–5 days after installation while the film cures fully. Premature operation of windows risks shifting the film before the adhesive has fully set.
