What is ceramic coating and how does it work?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your car's factory clear coat at a molecular level. Once cured, it forms an ultra-hard, hydrophobic layer that cannot be removed by normal washing. It repels water, contaminants, UV rays and light scratches while dramatically amplifying gloss.
How long does ceramic coating last in Dubai?

Is ceramic coating worth it in Dubai?

What is the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?
PPF (paint protection film) is a physical barrier that absorbs impact — rock chips, scratches, abrasion. Ceramic coating is a chemical shield that repels water, UV and contaminants while enhancing gloss. They do different jobs. Many ZGuard clients apply both: PPF for physical protection, ceramic on top for a hydrophobic finish.
Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?
Yes — and it's actually the recommended combination. ZGuard includes free STEK ceramic coating on every full-body PPF package. Applied over PPF, ceramic adds hydrophobic protection and makes the film easier to clean. Applied to unpainted surfaces (glass, plastic trim) it adds protection without the film.
How do I maintain ceramic coating?
Use pH-neutral car shampoo, avoid automatic car washes with brushes, rinse regularly to remove sand and dust, and bring your vehicle to ZGuard for your annual health check. Avoid harsh degreasers or alkaline products near coated surfaces.
How long does ceramic coating application take?
The process takes 1–2 days depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint. We always include a full decontamination wash and paint correction pass before applying the ceramic to ensure perfect adhesion.
Does ceramic coating scratch-proof my car?
Ceramic adds significant scratch resistance and deflects light swirl marks. However it is not a physical film — a heavy scratch or rock chip will still reach the paint. For physical impact protection, combine ceramic with STEK PPF. For most daily driving in Dubai, ceramic alone is a major upgrade.
